Sustainability Award 2022
Hello everyone and sorry for the radio silence over the past few months — we have been very busy supplying our embroidered theatre caps to many hospitals in the UK, whilst also working on new designs and exciting developments we hope to share with you soon.
Northwest Coast Research and Innovation Awards 2022
Last week we were kindly invited to attend the Northwest Coast Research and Innovation Awards 2022 at Edge Hill University. Liverpool University Hospital asked us to attend due to our close collaboration in implementing our embroidered theatre caps — and we are delighted to say that this project won the Sustainability Award 2022.
The North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards recognised outstanding work to improve health and care and find new and innovative ways to deliver services. A record number of 180 nominations were received, giving judges a tough job to decide winners across 12 categories, announced at Edge Hill University's Rose Theatre.
BBC North West Tonight presenter Roger Johnson hosted the event, which was also live-streamed to supporters and well-wishers.
In a video message, Matt Whitty, NHS England Director of Innovation, Research and Life Sciences said: "Congratulations to all the finalists and winners in the Northwest Coast Research and Innovation Awards. We need research so we can keep bringing the best new ideas to patients more quickly."
Looking Ahead
This is a fantastic achievement, and the recognition for the reusable name and role theatre cap project will hopefully encourage other trusts to make the change. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved in collaboration with Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and look forward to continuing to drive this change across the NHS.
