Making Headlines & Driving Innovation

What a busy few weeks! Two major press releases highlighted the ongoing challenges of unclear identification in operating theatres and how Theatre Badge Hats are solving this issue.

Why Identification Matters
The Scale of the Challenge

Misidentification happens every single day in UK theatres. Recent examples include:

A birthing partner repeatedly mistaken for staff during the delivery of his twins
A neonatal matron who mistook the father of a critically ill baby for a doctor

This has been accepted as 'just the way it is' โ€” but it does not have to be anymore.

Propel Programme
Our Next Big Step

We are thrilled to join the Propel Programme for Yorkshire & Humber. Over the next 6 months, we will learn from innovators who have already transformed patient care โ€” working with leaders like Olivia Burns and the Propel team to accelerate the impact of Theatre Badge Hats.

On the Ground
Great Western Hospital Maternity Theatres

Staff at Great Western Hospital have been using our badge hats for months. Thanks to a diversity grant, they have introduced inclusive options including hijabs and braided hats, making every team member feel valued. We also had the opportunity to meet the Trust's local MP.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss your trust's specific requirements, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We would be delighted to help.

Kind regards,
