Innovation Award
Innovate UK Women in Innovation Application
We are proud to share that we have officially applied for the Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award. This award represents more than recognition — it is an opportunity to accelerate our mission and provide the funds to complete a robust health economics study. We are also hopeful about participating in a real-world evaluation research project that can provide the evidence needed to make informed decisions about adoption and create meaningful outcomes for patients, staff and systems.

Patient Focus Groups
Insights from Lived Experience
In January, we held three focus groups with patients who have undergone surgery over many years. Their feedback was consistent and powerful. Many shared that throughout their surgical journeys, they often did not know the names or roles of the staff caring for them — leaving them feeling uncertain, disconnected, and at times anxious. When shown examples of theatre hats with clear names and roles, patients expressed that this simple change would have made a meaningful difference.

Investors
Meeting Investors & Navigating Business Growth
Over recent weeks we have had the privilege of meeting multiple investors who are passionate about healthcare improvement, sustainability, and safer surgery. Alongside the excitement, we have also experienced the real side of building a business — the highs of interest and encouragement, and the lows that come with uncertainty and the inevitable challenges of early-stage growth.

Global Research
Disposable Hat Usage Worldwide
Our recent global review of disposable theatre hat usage has produced striking figures:
|
The UK alone uses more than 150 million single-use theatre hats every year |
|
|
Usage is disproportionately high in departments with rotating staff and students |
|
|
The environmental footprint, financial waste, and operational inefficiency tied to disposables remain vastly underestimated |
