Eco Ninjas: Closing 2025 with Impact, Opening 2026 with Purpose

As 2025 draws to a close, we are proud to reflect on a year of significant progress and impact. The past few weeks have been especially productive — here are the key highlights from 2025, along with a preview of what lies ahead in 2026.

Breaking News
Heading to Parliament

Eco Ninjas has been invited to Parliament in January 2026, with our first discussion scheduled for the opening week of the New Year. This milestone offers an invaluable platform to demonstrate how innovation and sustainability can reshape healthcare for the better.

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust
Celebrating Somerset's Success

In March, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust's Orthopaedics department became the first in the UK to implement Theatre Badge Hats. The outcomes have been exceptional:

Stronger communication among surgical teams
Improved patient satisfaction
Significant cost savings
Reduced CO₂e emissions

Somerset's leadership has been recognised nationally, with the Trust shortlisted for a Patient Safety Award for implementing Theatre Badge Hats.

Great Western Hospital, Swindon
Expanding Impact: Inclusivity Initiative

The Great Western Maternity Unit became the second department to adopt our product. Building on Somerset's success, Swindon introduced multicultural hats, creating a powerful impact on inclusivity and patient experience.

Writable badges proved invaluable in identifying staff, students, and birthing partners. Hats designed for different hair types created more openness and boosted team engagement.

Media
Press Coverage in 2025

Our work was featured in BBC Somerset, The i Paper, and West Midlands News. We also had articles published in the Clinical Services Journal on tackling waste and addressing hierarchies in theatres, and on human factors and the importance of name badges in healthcare.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Key milestones ahead include our Parliamentary visit in January, a global video podcast with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, and continued expansion across multiple NHS Trusts. We have been accepted onto the NHS Propel Programme and joined the West Midlands Sustainability Network — partnerships that are paving the way for widespread adoption.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss your trust's specific requirements, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We would be delighted to help.
